A1 top team - Ragusa (8-0) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Venezia (3-5) 81-66. The game without a history. Ragusa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American point guard Riquna Williams (170-90, college: Miami, FL) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California, agency: Merit Management Group) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (189-86, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and Romanian forward Simina Mandache (185-81) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Venezia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ragusa have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Newly promoted Venezia keeps the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Orvieto. Ragusa are looking forward to face Umbertide (#5) on the road in the next round. Venezia will play against La Spezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
