Regular Season Round 8: Niigata - Denso Iris 44-73

The game in Tokyo supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Denso Iris (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Niigata (2-6). Denso Iris smashed Niigata 73-44 on Sunday. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Denso Iris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Shiori Takada (171-92) chipped in 16 points. Denso Iris' coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international guard Hiromi Iwamura (168-81) produced 19 points and forward Inoue Ai (172-90) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Denso Iris have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader JX Sunflowers, which they share with Toyota A. Niigata lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with six games lost. Denso Iris will face Fujitsu RW (#6) in Kawasaki in the next round. Niigata will play at home against Chanson V-M and hope to win that game.
