Regular Season Round 9: Al Rayyan - Al Sadd 79-71

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#1) and Al Sadd (#2). Al Rayyan (9-0) won against visiting Al Sadd (7-2) 79-71. It was a good game for American point guard Boney Watson (183-78, college: Sam Houston St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 assists. Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Watson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. International Erfan Ali Saeed (198-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and Sierra Leonean-American swingman Alpha Bangura (197-80, college: St.John's, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Al Sadd. Al Rayyan have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Al Sadd at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost.
