Regular Season Round 11: Sozh Gomel - Borisfen 92-64

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Borisfen (2-9) was crushed on the road by second ranked Sozh Gomel (9-2) 92-64 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sozh Gomel. Borisfen managed to win second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sozh Gomel dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Borisfen's 20 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Sozh Gomel forced 23 Borisfen turnovers and outrebounded them 51-22 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Ukrainian forward Sergei Dadukin (198-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Center Pavel Bliznets (210-94) helped adding 13 points and 14 rebounds. Four Sozh Gomel players scored in double figures. Sozh Gomel's coach Aleksander Poderachev felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. point guard Fedor Kryukov (181-88) responded with 30 points and Andrei Aheyenka (194-92) scored 20 points. Sozh Gomel maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Grodno-93. Loser Borisfen keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Rubon. Sozh Gomel will meet Tsmoki-Minsk II (#5) on the road in the next round. Borisfen will play against Prinemanye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
