Very predictable result when tenth ranked Boulazac Basket (8-8) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Lille Metropole (4-13) 83-73. The game was mostly controlled by Boulazac Basket. Lille Metropole was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Boulazac Basket made 26-of-29 charity shots (89.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Lille Metropole turnovers. Strangely Lille Metropole outrebounded Boulazac Basket 37-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Lille Metropole helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). His fellow American import forward Tyler Smith (201-86, college: Tennessee) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Ivan Almeida (197-89, college: Stonehill) answered with 29 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Steffon Bradford (200-78, college: Nebraska) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lille Metropole. Boulazac Basket moved-up to ninth place. Lille Metropole lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Boulazac Basket's next round opponent will be Hyeres-Toulon (#10) on the road. Lille Metropole will play against Souffelweyersheim (#11) in Souffel. and hope to win that game.
