Regular Season Round 9: Skallagrimur - KR 65-109

Dominos League top team - KR (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Skallagrimur (2-7) in Borgarnes 109-65. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Skallagrimur's 50. KR forced 23 Skallagrimur turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American forward Terry Leake (193-91, college: Delta St.) nailed 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and international Martin Hermannsson (192-94) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four KR players scored in double figures. KR's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Orri Jonsson (180-92) came up with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Egill Egilsson (193-80) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for Skallagrimur in the defeat. KR have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Skallagrimur at the other side dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with KFI and IR. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Valur.
