We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Ciudad de Mexico where fourteenth ranked Gansos (1-20) beat 13th ranked Correcaminos (4-15) 95-88 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 28-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Correcaminos outrebounded Gansos 37-0 including a 12- advantage in offensive rebounds. Correcaminos were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Ryan McCoy (183-87, college: La-Lafayette) who had a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. His fellow American import guard Harrison Smith (190, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Gansos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American point guard Andrew Gomez (177-85, college: E.Los Angeles JC) who recorded 14 points and 6 assists and naturalized American guard Lorenzo Keeler (188-85, college: Cal Poly - SLO) added 16 points respectively. Gansos maintains fourteenth place with 1-20 record. Correcaminos at the other side keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Gansos will face higher ranked Huracanes (#8) in Tampico in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
