Regular Season Round 18: Le Portel - Nantes 82-83

The most exciting game of round 18 in the ProB took place in Le Portel. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-best Le Portel (11-7) to thirteenth ranked Nantes (9-9) 83-82 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Le Portel. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. American-Italian point guard Anthony Raffa (185-89, college: Co.Carolina) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) who recorded 30 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Matthew Gibson (193-84) added 15 points respectively. Le Portel's coach Eric Girard rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nantes moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Le Portel at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Evreux and Maurienne. Nantes is looking forward to face higher ranked ALM Evreux (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Le Portel will play against Poitiers and is hoping to win this game.
