Regular Season Round 10: Qingdao E. - Bayi R. 102-95

We should mention about the upset which took place in Qingdao, where higher ranked Bayi Rockets (4-6) lost to seventeenth ranked Qingdao Eagles (2-8) in a road game 95-102 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bayi Rockets. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-95. Qingdao Eagles forced 21 Bayi Rockets turnovers. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. The former international forward Lei Wang (203-86) produced 22 points and the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (215-77) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Five Qingdao Eagles and four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW. Loser Bayi Rockets dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Qingdao Eagles will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#9) in Hangzhou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
