Very predictable result in Huelva where fifth ranked Jopisa Burgos (5-4) edged 10th ranked Conquero (3-6) 57-54 on Saturday. Conquero trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 18-8 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 54-57 at the end of the game. Greek forward Katerina Sotiriou (186-84) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Nina Bogicevic (178-89) with 17 points and Romanian forward Claudia Pop (182-89) scored 12 points. Conquero's coach Gabriel Carrasco rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jopisa Burgos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Uni Girona. Conquero lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Jopisa Burgos will face Cadi ICG S. (#9) in Seu D'urgell in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Conquero will play on the road against Pais Vasco in San Sebastian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
