Regular Season Round 11: Stal Ostrow - Wilki Morskie 94-75

An interesting game took place in Ostrow Wlkp. where higher ranked Wilki Morskie (6-5) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Stal Ostrow (5-6) 94-75. It looked good early as Wilki Morskie took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Stal Ostrow had a 24-16 second period charge getting the lead and Wilki Morskie was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-94. Center Wojciech Zurawski (205-76) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). point guard Tomasz Ochonko (184-86, agency: Promotex) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Center Pawel Mroz (215-84) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Pawel Kowalczuk (207-80, college: St.Francis, NY, agency: Promotex) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Wilki Morskie. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wilki Morskie's coach Marek Zukowski rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Stal Ostrow moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sokol Lancut. Wilki Morskie at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Stal Ostrow's next round opponent will be MCKiS Jaworz. (#12) in Jaworzno. Wilki Morskie will play at home against Znicz Basket (#10) and hope to win that game.
