Second Stage Round 7: Tinguiririca S.F. - AB Ancud 87-84

Eighth-ranked AB Ancud (1-6) gave a tough game to second ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (5-2) in San Fernando on Saturday. Tinguiririca S.F. managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected much easier game. AB Ancud trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 29-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-87 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Patrick Saez (193-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezuelan Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) helped adding 21 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Sylvester Spicer (198-86, college: Rogers St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Pedro Sandoval (175-89) scored 24 points. Four AB Ancud players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tinguiririca S.F. maintains second place with 5-2 record behind leader Talca. AB Ancud lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Tinguiririca S.F. are looking forward to face CD Puerto Varas (#6) at home in the next round. AB Ancud will play against the league's leader Boston College in Santiago and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
