Regular Season Round 9: Stabill Jezioro - Polpharma 107-80

Bottom-ranked Stabill Jezioro managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses. This time they outleveled eleventh-ranked Polpharma in Tarnobrzeg 107-80. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 27-point difference suggests that Stabill Jezioro is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Stabill Jezioro. Polpharma was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stabill Jezioro shot 68.8 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Stabill Jezioro especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Polpharma's players. It was a good game for point guard Marcin Nowakowski (186-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. American guard Chaisson Allen (192-89, college: Northeastern) contributed with 30 points and 7 assists for the winners. Serbian Nikola Jeftic (205-87) answered with 20 points and Lithuanian point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) added 20 points in the effort for Polpharma. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Tomasz Jankowski gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Stabill Jezioro (2-7) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kotwica. Polpharma lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. Stabill Jezioro's next round opponent will be Kotwica (#10) in Kolobrzeg. Polpharma will play on the road against the league's leader Stelmet ZG where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
