Regular Season Round 9: Dunkerque - Pays d'Aix 43-48

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Pays d'Aix and 8th ranked Dunkerque had identical 3-5 record. But Dunkerque was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Les Milles 48-43 on Saturday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dunkerque won fourth quarter 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pays d'Aix dominated on the defensive end, holding Dunkerque to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a good game for forward Kelly Corre (180-91) who led her team to a victory with 13 points. Forward Stephanie Dubois (183-83) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Dace Pierre-joseph answered with 5 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sonia Bal (182-80) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dunkerque. Pays d'Aix (4-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Le Havre. Loser Dunkerque dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Pays d'Aix will have a break next round. Dunkerque will play on the road against Le Havre (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
