Regular Season Round 8: MIA Academy - Sokhumi 79-89

The most shocking disappointment of round 8 was a home defeat of 5th ranked MIA (3-4) to sixth ranked Sokhumi (4-3) 89-79 in the game for the fifth place. Sokhumi made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by MIA helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Maltese-American Darryl Jackson (189-85, college: Warner Pacific, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international Nika Metreveli (211-91, agency: Interperformances) who added 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Sokhumi players scored in double figures. International guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and international Merab Bokolishvili (198-92) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Sokhumi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion MIA dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Armia.
