Regular Season Round 9: Denso Iris - Fujitsu RW 68-58
Date: December 7, 2013
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Denso Iris (8-1) beat 6th ranked Fujitsu RW (6-3) in Kariya 68-58. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Fujitsu RW was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Yasuko Itou (160-90) chipped in 10 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Fujitsu RW's coach Yabuuchi Natsumi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Denso Iris. They maintain second place with 8-1 record behind leader JX Sunflowers. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Denso Iris' next round opponent will be Hitachi Cougars (#8) in Hitachinaka which should be theoretically an easy game. Fujitsu RW will play on the road against Toyota B SR in Aichi and hope to win that game.
