Regular Season Round 11: Zwolle - Leiden 72-59

Date: December 8, 2013
The game had a very big importance for tenth-ranked Zwolle as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zwolle defeated higher ranked Leiden at home 72-59. The game was mostly controlled by Zwolle. Leiden managed to win fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American guard J.T. Tiller (191-88, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Kenrick Zondervan (206-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. International Worthy de Jong (194-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Robert Holcomb Faye (185-84, college: Radford) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Leiden. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leiden's coach Toon Van Helfteren rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending champion Leiden dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Leiden will play next round against Rotterdam trying to get back on the winning streak. Zwolle will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Den Bosch on the road.
