The game had a very big importance for tenth-ranked Zwolle as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zwolle defeated higher ranked Leiden at home 72-59. The game was mostly controlled by Zwolle. Leiden managed to win fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
