The game in was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Athinaikos (4-4) played at the court of seventh ranked Anagenisi (3-6). Anagenisi managed to secure a 7-point victory 62-55 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Maria Avtzi (172-90) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Anagenisi's coach Giannis Kafantaris used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-FYR Macedonian forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and forward Marianna Axiopoulou (180-84) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Anagenisi moved-up to sixth place. Loser Athinaikos keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Anagenisi will face bottom-ranked Kronos AD (#10) on the road in the next round. Athinaikos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Panathinaikos.
