Regular Season Round 9: Hitachi Cougars - Yamanashi QB 69-63

Bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to tenth ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-7) 69-63 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Yamanashi QB won third quarter 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 45-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Forward Hikaru Ogasawara (174-88) nailed 18 points for the winning side and swingman Ariyama Keiko (172-88) accounted for 7 points and 14 rebounds. Hitachi Cougars' coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Power forward Mika Okada (174-87) came up with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Yumiko Tsuge (170-82) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Yamanashi QB in the defeat. Four Yamanashi QB players scored in double figures. Hitachi Cougars moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Toyota B SR and Niigata. Yamanashi QB lost their ninth game in a row. Yamanashi QB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Ebara Vickies. Hitachi Cougars will meet league's second-placed Denso Iris in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamanashi QB will play against Chanson V-M (#3) in Shizuoka and hopes to get finally their first victory.
