Top ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (8-3) recorded its third loss on the court of third ranked Chieti on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Chieti 90-68. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Naturhouse Ferrara. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Chieti. Naturhouse Ferrara managed to win second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chieti shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 58.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88) chipped in 21 points (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!). Chieti's coach Antonio Marzoli felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Julius Mays (188-89, college: Kentucky) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Chieti (7-4) moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Naturhouse Ferrara at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Chieti is looking forward to face Matera (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Naturhouse Ferrara will play against Casalpusterlengo (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
