An interesting game took place in Pistoia where higher ranked Cimberio Varese (4-5) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Tuscany Pistoia (3-6) 89-76. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Tuscany Pistoia's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-16 extending their advantage to 13 points. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Tuscany Pistoia forced 19 Cimberio Varese turnovers. It was a good game for American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. International forward Achille Polonara (203-91) answered with 17 points and American guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) added 16 points in the effort for Cimberio Varese. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tuscany Pistoia moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with JuveCaserta and Sutor MGR. Cimberio Varese at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Tuscany Pistoia's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Enel Brindisi on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
