Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (10-8) against seventh ranked Osaka Evessa (8-10) on Sunday night. Host Hamamatsu Phoenix was defeated by Osaka Evessa in a tough game in Mikawa 72-81. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 50-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) who scored that evening 15 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals and center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Even 24 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) did not help to save the game for Hamamatsu Phoenix. Forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St.) added 7 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Osaka Evessa maintains seventh position with 8-10 record, which they share with Yokohama BC and Aomori Watts. Loser Hamamatsu Phoenix dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Osaka Evessa will meet at home league's leader Okinawa GK in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against Oita Heat Devils and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
