Regular Season Round 20: Sendai 89ers - Aomori Watts 90-70

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Sendai 89ers and 7th ranked Aomori Watts had identical 8-9 record. This time Sendai 89ers used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from 90-70 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Aomori Watts was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Travele Travel (203-88, college: Texas Southern) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Wendell Wendell (198-84, college: UNLV) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. Five Sendai 89ers and four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sendai 89ers (9-9) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Loser Aomori Watts keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Sendai 89ers will face Iwate Big Bulls (#5) on the road in the next round. Aomori Watts will play against Shimane Magic and hope to win that game.
