We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Alghero (1-7) defeated at home 6th ranked Valmadrera (2-6) 58-46 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Alghero. Valmadrera was better in third quarter 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for center Costanza Giorgi (185-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. point guard Sara Farris (165-85) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Silvia Scudiero (182-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Sara Canova (174-89) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Valmadrera. Alghero maintains seventh place in North-East with 1-7 record. Loser Valmadrera keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Alghero will face higher ranked San Salvatore (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
