Regular Season Round 9: Priolo - Parma 78-59

An interesting game took place in Priolo where 4th placed Parma (5-4) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Priolo (2-5) 78-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Parma. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Priolo's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-9 extending their advantage to 19 points. Priolo had a 33-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Priolo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. It was a good game for the former international guard Valentina Donvito (170-78) who led her team to a victory with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Susanna Bonfiglio (178-74) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Four Priolo players scored in double figures. American center Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and New Zealand-American forward Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: Players Group) added 11 points in the effort for Parma. Priolo moved-up to tenth place. Parma at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Priolo's next round opponent will be higher ranked Lucca (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Parma will play against La Spezia and hope to win that game.
