The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Udine as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North-East. Udine defeated 3rd placed Vicenza at home 67-49. It was a key game for the top position in North-East. Vicenza was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 43-24 second half run of Udine. They made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game, while Vicenza only scored six points from the stripe. Udine forced 21 Vicenza turnovers. Estonian forward Viive Kai Rebane (183-89, college: Binghamton) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and guard Sara De Biase (180-88) chipped in 19 points. The best for the losing side was forward Lucia Ferri (182-85) with 9 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Erica Caracciolo (180-86) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Triestina. Newly promoted Vicenza keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Muggia. Vicenza will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Udine will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Valmadrera on the road.
