Regular Season Round 10: Azpeitia - Caceres 74-61

There was an upset when higher ranked Caceres Basket (6-4) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Azpeitia (3-6) 74-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Azpeitia. Caceres Basket was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Azpeitia forced 20 Caceres Basket turnovers. Guard Joseba Ibargutxi (190-82) fired 8 points and 10 assists for the winners. Guard Ander Arruti (189-90) chipped in 17 points. American forward Javier Carter (202-91, college: S.Alabama, agency: LUMANI 10.7) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Luis Parejo (195-89) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Azpeitia moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Caceres Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Azpeitia will face bottom-ranked Askatuak (#13) in San Sebastian in the next round.
