Regular Season Round 10: Hapoel Holon - Hapoel Eilat 91-71

Date: December 9, 2013
The game in Holon supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Hapoel Eilat (5-5) played at the court of seventh ranked Hapoel Holon (5-4). Hapoel Holon did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-71. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Eilat was better in third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Holon shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Brian Asbury (200-86, college: Miami, FL) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) supported him with 14 points and 8 assists. Four Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon's coach Lior Lubin used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 5 assists by Terrence Roderick (196-88, college: UAB, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Eilat. Forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Hapoel Holon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Hapoel Eilat lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Hapoel Holon's next round opponent will be Maccabi Rishon (#11) in Rishon Le-Zion where they are favorite. Hapoel Eilat will play at home against the league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona (#1) and hope to win that game.
