Regular Season Round 9: Ironi K-A - Ramat Hasharon 88-83

An interesting game took place in Kiryat Ata where higher ranked Ramat Hasharon (4-5) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (3-6) 88-83 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ramat Hasharon won fourth quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Kiryat Ata forced 21 Ramat Hasharon turnovers. Ramat Hasharon was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Noam Laish (188-93, college: Maine) chipped in 19 points. Five Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Joshua Alexander (195-87, college: SF Austin) with 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Ironi Kiryat Ata moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Elizur Ashkelon and Elitzur Ramla. Newly promoted Ramat Hasharon dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Ironi Kiryat Ata will face Elitzur Ramla (#13) on the road in the next round.
