There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Poitiers (7-11) was edged on the road by sixteenth ranked SPO Rouen (7-11) 78-77 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 30-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. SPO Rouen dominated on the defensive end, holding Poitiers to just 7 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was American Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized DR Congolese point guard Henry Kahudi (194-91) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. SPO Rouen's coach Laurent Sciarra used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Karim Souchu (198-79, college: Furman) added 21 points and 6 assists respectively. SPO Rouen moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Poitiers and St Vallier. SPO Rouen will face league's leader SO Maritime Boulogne in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
