Regular Season Round 7: Beijing - Yunnan 90-71

Bottom-ranked Qujing Yunnan (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-71 loss to second ranked Beijing Great Wall (6-1) in Beijing on Tuesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Great Wall. Qujing Yunnan managed to win fourth quarter 28-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Qujing Yunnan to just 6 points in third quarter. Beijing Great Wall well out of reach of Qujing Yunnan shooting 83.3 percent from the field. It was a great evening for Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!). Forward Ting Shao (183-89) helped adding 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side American center Lindsay Taylor (203-81, college: UCSB) responded with 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Fan Feng (185-90) scored 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Great Wall maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Shanxi, which they share with Shanghai. Qujing Yunnan lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Shenyang. Beijing Great Wall will meet at home Guangdong Dolphins (#4) in the next round. Qujing Yunnan will play against Heilongjiang Chenneng (#7) in Harbin and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
