Regular Season Round 7: Guangdong - Shanxi 69-93

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guangzhou. Leader Shanxi Rui Flame faced 4th placed Guangdong Dolphins. Guests from TaiyuanC (7-0) smashed host Guangdong Dolphins (5-2) 93-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guangdong Dolphins. The game without a history. Shanxi Rui Flame led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Shanxi Rui Flame especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Guangdong Dolphins' players. American Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Dong Yu (195-93) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Shanxi Rui Flame players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American power forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and forward Dongxia Zhang (183-90) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Shanxi Rui Flame have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Shanxi Rui Flame maintains first place with 7-0 record. Guangdong Dolphins at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. Shanxi Rui Flame are looking forward to face Jiangsu Phoenix (#6) in Yixing in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Guangdong Dolphins will play on the road against the league's second-placed Beijing Great Wall and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
