Regular Season Round 12: Shanghai S. - Liaoning H. 114-89

Date: December 11, 2013
Fourth ranked Shanghai Sharks (9-3) crushed at home 9th ranked Liaoning Hunters (6-6) by 25 points 114-89, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Shanghai Sharks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. Shanghai Sharks outrebounded Liaoning Hunters 53-42 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Liaoning Hunters were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) who added 26 points and 6 assists during the contest. Shanghai Sharks' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) with 32 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and forward TianJu He (203-90) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to second place, which they share with Beijing Ducks and Xinjiang FT. Liaoning Hunters lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Shanghai Sharks will face Jilin Tigers (#15) in Changchun in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Liaoning Hunters will play at home against the league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige (#2) and hope to win that game.
