Regular Season Round 10: Breakers - Wildcats 62-71

Leader Perth Wildcats delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked New Zealand Breakers (4-9) 71-62 in Auckland. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 16-12 New Zealand Breakers' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 71-62 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Matthew Knight (204-85, college: Loyola Mary) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman James Ennis (201-90, college: Long Beach St.) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. Fijian-New Zealand forward Mika Vukona (198-82) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Kerron Johnson (185-90, college: Belmont) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for New Zealand Breakers. Perth Wildcats have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-1 record. New Zealand Breakers lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the bottom place with nine games lost. Perth Wildcats will play against Cairns Taipans (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. New Zealand Breakers will play against Kings in Sydney and hope to get back on the winning track.
