Regular Season Round 21: Oita H.Devils - Hamamatsu P. 65-71

The game between Top Four teams took place in Oita. 4th placed host Oita Heat Devils (12-8) lost to third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (11-9) 71-65Oita Heat Devils were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 36-29 second half run of Hamamatsu Phoenix. Strangely Oita Heat Devils outrebounded Hamamatsu Phoenix 38-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a good game for guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. Guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Devonne Giles (203-83, college: Texas Tech) added 17 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Despite that victory Hamamatsu Phoenix went down to fourth position due to points difference. Oita Heat Devils at the other side dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
