The game between seventh ranked Fos Ouest (11-8) and 15th ranked Saint Vallier (7-12) in Fos-sur-Mer on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Fos Ouest outscored guests from Saint Vallier 101-68. The game without a history. Fos Ouest led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Saint Vallier's 26. They outrebounded Saint Vallier 37-15 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fos Ouest shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for Moroccan-Canadian Mohamed Hachad (194-83, college: Northwestern) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. American swingman Chris Davis (195-80, college: N.Texas, agency: Court Side) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Fos Ouest players scored in double figures. Fos Ouest's coach Remi Giutta felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Julian Gamble (207-89, college: Miami, FL) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and Philippe Haquet (200-86) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Saint Vallier. Fos Ouest moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Le Portel. Saint Vallier lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Fos Ouest will face Boulazac Basket (#10) on the road in the next round. Saint Vallier will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#9) and hope to win that game.
