Regular Season Round 10: Trefl Sopot - Slask Wroclaw 87-73

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Slask Wroclaw (5-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Trefl Sopot (7-2) 87-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 48-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Trefl Sopot outrebounded Slask Wroclaw 41-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. International swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) produced 14 points and the former international Michal Gabinski (201-87) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Slask Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trefl Sopot maintains second position with 7-2 record having just three points less than leader Stelmet ZG. Newly promoted Slask Wroclaw keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Trefl Sopot will face Asseco (#8) in Gdynia in the next round where they are favorite. Slask Wroclaw will play on the road against AZS Koszalin and hope to win that game.
