Regular Season Round 21: Kyoto Hannar. - Fukuoka Rizing 73-61

Very expected game when 6th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (8-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (12-7) 73-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Fukuoka Rizing was better in third quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyoto Hannar. forced 20 Fukuoka Rizing turnovers. American center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Crosse) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar. maintains second place with 12-7 record having just one points less than leader Akita NH. Loser Fukuoka Rizing keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face again Fukuoka Rizing (#6) at home in the next round.
