Regular Season Round 10: Flamengo - S.Jose/Unimed 59-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Rio de Janeiro between second ranked Flamengo (6-3) and seventh ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (5-3) on Saturday night. Flamengo was crushed by Sao Jose/Vinac at home 59-81. The game without a history. Sao Jose/Vinac led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Dominican point guard Emmanuel Quezada (188-85, college: USF) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures. American center Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) replied with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Marcelo Magalhaes (201-75, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points in the effort for Flamengo. Sao Jose/Vinac moved-up to sixth place. Flamengo at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Sao Jose/Vinac are looking forward to face higher ranked Mogi (#5) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Flamengo will play on the road against the league's leader Winner/Limeira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
