Regular Season Round 8: Liffey Celtics - UL Huskies 69-74

Premier League top team - UL Huskies (7-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked Liffey Celtics (0-8) in Kildare 74-69. They outrebounded Liffey Celtics 43-31 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian-British guard Rachel Vanderwal (176-83, college: Boston U.) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). International center Aoife McDermott (185-91) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Aine O'Connor produced 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Ailbhe O'Connor added 4 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Liffey Celtics players scored in double figures. UL Huskies have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-0 record. Liffey Celtics at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. UL Huskies will have a break next round. Liffey Celtics will play at home against the league's second-placed DCU Mercy (#2) and hope to get finally their first victory.
