Regular Season Round 14: Quimper - St Chamond 70-67

A very close game took place in Quimper between Quimper UJAP and Saint Chamond. Tenth ranked Quimper UJAP (7-7) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Saint Chamond (9-5). Quimper UJAP managed to escape with a 3-point win 70-67 on Saturday evening. Quimper UJAP forced 20 Saint Chamond turnovers. Forward Mathieu Tensorer (198-83) notched 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Fabien Herard (198-79) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach Aymeric Collignon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 20 points by Lithuanian swingman Mantas Ruikis (194-85) did not help to save the game for Saint Chamond. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chartres. Loser Saint Chamond keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Charleville. Quimper UJAP will meet ADA Blois (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Saint Chamond will play against La Rochelle (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
