Very predictable result when third ranked Niigata Albirex (14-7) smashed at home 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-17) 98-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Niigata Albirex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Niigata Albirex shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Yuichi Ikeda (192-83) chipped in 17 points and 4 steals. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Michael Joiner (200-81, college: Florida St.) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Mark Dawson (206-83, college: Long Beach St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata Albirex maintains third place with 14-7 record behind leader Akita NH. Saitama Broncos lost their fourteenth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Saitama Broncos (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
