There was a minor upset in San Sebastian where 7th ranked Pais Vasco (4-6) was rolled over by tenth ranked Conquero (4-6) 81-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Conquero. Pais Vasco was better in third quarter 16-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Conquero forced 20 Pais Vasco turnovers. Pais Vasco was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian guard Nina Bogicevic (178-89) fired 23 points for the winners. Romanian forward Claudia Pop (182-89) chipped in 17 points and 4 steals. Conquero's coach Gabriel Carrasco used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) added 21 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Conquero moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Cadi ICG S. and Pais Vasco. Conquero will face Ibaizabal (#11) in Galdakao in the next round.
