Everything went according to plan when third ranked Pau Lacq Orthez (7-2) edged on the road 9th ranked Reims (3-6) 73-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 37-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Senegalese forward Awa Gueye (182-78) scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Lakevia Boykin (175-91, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 18 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Pauline Lithard (168-94) scored 17 points. Pau Lacq Orthez maintains third position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader COB Calais. Reims lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Pau Lacq Orthez will face Dunkerque (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Reims will play against Avenir in Chartres and hope to win that game.
