Regular Season Round 8: Meteors - Killester 55-75

Date: December 14, 2013
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Dublin: 11890 Killester (#6) and Meteors (#8). Meteors were smashed at home by 20 points 55-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. 11890 Killester dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Meteors' 28. 11890 Killester forced 24 Meteors turnovers. 11890 Killester players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 0 passes made by Meteors' players. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Michelle Clarke (178-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Spanish center Laura Pardo (186-89) who added 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four 11890 Killester players scored in double figures. American Katie Ganser (186-90, college: Merrimack) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Beth Meany (168-90) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. 11890 Killester maintains sixth position with 3-4 record. Meteors lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with seven games lost. 11890 Killester will play against higher ranked Brunell (#3) in Cork in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Meteors will play at home against Ulster Rockets (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
