There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Grindavik (6-8) was crushed at home by seventh ranked KR (6-8) 72-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Grindavik to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Grindavik 63-45 including a 27-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Ebone Henry (178-91, college: Albany) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds. The former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. The former international guard Ingibjorg Jakobsdottir (177-90) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and center Helga Hallgrimsdottir (180-87) added 7 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KR have a solid three-game winning streak.
