Regular Season Round 12: Arras - Nice 51-62
Date: December 14, 2013
Bottom-ranked Nice managed to get a third victory, breaking the four-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Nice won against seventh-ranked Arras 62-51. The game was mostly controlled by Nice. Arras managed to win fourth quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Kristen Sharp (175-81, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and Spanish forward Anna Montanana (186-80, college: G.Washington) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Mali center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 21 rebounds and American point guard Dawn Evans (170-89, college: JMU, agency: LBM Management) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Arras' coach Marc Silvert rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nice (3-9) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Arras lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Nice will meet at home higher ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Arras will play against Angers (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
