Regular Season Round 10: Niigata - Ebara Vickies 83-66

Bottom-ranked Ebara Vickies (0-10) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to ninth ranked Niigata (3-7) 83-66. It looked good early as Ebara Vickies took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Niigata had a 21-1 second period charge getting the lead and Ebara Vickies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-83. Niigata dominated on the defensive end, holding Ebara Vickies to just 1 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Ebara Vickies 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Ebara Vickies helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Nozomi Hoshino (164-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Niigata players scored in double figures. Yuki Morimoto replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her eight free throws) and guard Inamoto Satoko (165-84) added 9 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ebara Vickies. Ebara Vickies' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Niigata moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Ebara Vickies still closes the standings with ten games lost. Niigata's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (#12) on the road. Ebara Vickies will play against Chanson V-M and look forward to get finally their first victory.
