Regular Season Round 11: KR - Haukar 96-67

Dominos League top team - KR (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Haukar (6-5) in Reykjavik 96-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Haukar. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Haukar 48-35 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Haukar helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. International Martin Hermannsson (192-94) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four KR players scored in double figures. American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and guard Emil Barja (192-91) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Haukar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Newly promoted Haukar keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Stjarnan. KR are looking forward to face Grindavik (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Haukar will play against Valur in Reykjavik and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
