Leader Akita Happinets recorded the eighteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Yokohama BC (9-11) 99-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Yokohama BC. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Yokohama BC managed to win second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Chas McFarland (213-86, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Omar Reed (200-87, college: Bluefield, agency: Norton Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds and guard Marcus Simmons (198-88, college: USC) scored 24 points. Five Akita Happinets and four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akita Happinets maintains first position with 18-4 record. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars and Aomori Watts. Akita Happinets will meet Osaka Evessa (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Yokohama BC will play against Shimane Magic and hope to secure a win.
